Here´s the first in a series of acrylic / mixed media paintings I´m doing for an upcoming exhibition at our national Car Show March 18-21.
This is my interpretation of an old sign I have on my wall.
I am crazy about weathered, rusty signs for some reason.
Hence my attempt at making one.
Size is 100 x 120cm if I recall correctly.

Hope you like it. Feel free to comment!

This is kinda really intense. I honestly thought it was a picture. Very well done.

Thanks a lot!
It´s not as realistic up close, I think - photographing a painting is always hard, but I´m glad you like it :)

This looks amazing. The texture really makes this piece. Very nice use of the "drip" technique. My roommate is an oil painter and I can appreciate the kind of work that went into this. Nicely done.

Yeah, I love splashing and dripping paint to get a nice worn/grungy feel to it.
But ironically there has to be system to the "accidental" drops, scratches and splashes.
Otherwise it starts looking like a pattern and the effects will kill the painting.
But it´s a LOT of fun to work with! :D

Awesome job i love the way you've aged it maybe a bit old for my liking (im more of an 80s guy) but that wont stop me from appreciating the quality and effort that has been put into this piece of artwork awesome job keep it up :)

Thanks for the compliment!
Funny, I´m an eighties kinda guy myself (constantly getting told I am an old fart stuck in the past...hehe) - but I also love the older stuff from the 20ies and forward.
I have a classic american motel sign coming up shortly - not as weathered and not as old in style - but still not the 80ies :D
